But can you dance to it?

For those of you who don't know, I'm a late bloomer.  A little over two years ago I decided to learn how to play piano, which I wasn't allowed to do when I was a kid.

Tonight, I was looking at videos of the next song I'm supposed to play when I ran across this guy playing Rhapsody in Blue by Gershwin:

Seriously people, watch the whole thing- amazing!

And seriously intimidating.

My next song is this:

I love this song, and I'm excited to learn it, but I have the sheet music already, and I can play 2 bars. Two.

And that guy playing Gershwin makes me want to throw up my hands in defeat.  Seriously, I'm 40, and I decide to learn piano?!

*sigh*

At least I'm having fun!

Remember, it's just a ride.  (seriously, gotta keep that in mind!)

  1. I loved playing moonlight sonata until my carpal tunnel got too bad that I can't stretch my fingers for the chords. I love that song. Good luck. You can do it.

  2. Better late than never, right? I still want to learn the guitar, and while creeping up on 30, I have yet to start. My dad, meanwhile, just started - he's really good, too - and he's 60. His new hobby now that retirement is in sight.
