A friend posted this on FB. I think the father behaved with as little maturity as the daughter. Unfortunately, that's the way teenagers view parents. To forget that as a parent can be a bit dangerous. He should have allowed himself to become so affected. He destroyed a computer that he purchased, with new software that he purchased. A little dumb, I think.
While it seems a little extreme, they did an interview with him, and he said he and his daughter had this problem before, and they both specifically agreed, 'if this happens again I'm putting a bullet in it.' Word for word. Amazing how many people think the girl's going to become a stripper or a drug addict because of this. I'm pretty sure she'll be fine.
