We're talking and catching up, you know, things like...how's the new job going, and, you won't believe what's going on here at work, lucky you got out. And I ask her, "So, what are you doing today?"
She's leaving her sister's house and going to the bank to deposit a check before she drives an hour home so she can pick up her car from the shop this week. Ok, cool.
So we're talking and stuff when she gets to her bank. Next thing you know, she's cussing. Huh? What gives?
No deposit envelopes. Nilch, zip, nada.
|Such a simple thing....|
Ok. So she decides to drive 15 minutes to the affiliate bank back near her sister's.
No deposit envelopes. Nyet! What?!
So she drives back to where her bank is and goes to the other 3 or 4 banks in town to see if they have envelopes.........NO! No no no no.
All the while I'm laughing and telling her it would be really awesome if someone robbed one of those banks, and they have security footage of her driving up to all of them, jumping out of the car and then jumping back in and taking off.....yep, cool.
|Doesn't really look like her..but "terrorizes tellers" seems accurate.|
She even goes so far as to ponder wrapping her check in the napkin she finds in the rental car...but I warned her the tellers might think it's trash someone dumped in the deposit drawer....Even if she wrote "THIS ISN'T TRASH!!!!! FOR DEPOSIT ONLY!!!" in huge letters on the napkin.
Finally, she finds an envelope in the rental car she's in. It's clear on one side. Oh well. She uses it to deposit her money, while we say fervent prayers that the bank tellers don't loose it or toss it in the morning.
And all I can think is.....April Fools......? Wtf? Not one bank in a 20 mile radius has deposit envelopes? What's the deal?
Remember, it's just a ride.
